TETHERÆ for Linux
The Linux agent ships as a .deb. X11 is the path we have tested end to end, and Wayland is handled directly on wlroots compositors. A desktop-portal backend for GNOME and KDE is built in but not yet verified on those desktops, so treat it as unproven rather than supported. Input is injected through uinput at the kernel level, which is what makes it work identically across every backend.

Worth knowing
Wayland is approached two ways. On wlroots compositors the agent captures directly, and that path works. For GNOME and KDE it uses the desktop portal, and while that code ships in the package it has not yet completed a session against either desktop on real hardware — the PipeWire frame path is written but unexercised. We would rather say so here than have you find out. If you are on GNOME or KDE today, an X11 session is the reliable choice.
The packaged unit runs as the session user rather than as root. Capture on X11 goes through a shared-memory segment owned by the session, so running as the session user is what makes it work reliably.
